Fierce Now Exhibition 2016

Fierce.Now Exhibition
The Pop_UP was held between the 5-15 October 2016 at the Compagnie Theater in Amsterdam and the Nieuwe Regentjes in Den Haag.

FIERCE.NOW, a pop-up exhibition, represents the changing mood and attitude of a country forming part of a continent rising rapidly to the pursuit of the fearless renewal of its identity – a story finally being told from the perspective of the lion and not the hunter. The works presented, reflect on the positive creation of new imagery and ideas. This is the building block of a new culture.

FIERCE.NOW refers to the commonly used urban slang ‘Fierce’ and famous statement by Martin Luther King, the “fierce urgency of now” which remains as valid today as ever, if not more.

“We are now faced with the fact that tomorrow is today. We are confronted with the fierce urgency of now. In this unfolding conundrum of life and history, there “is” such a thing as being too late. This is no time for apathy or complacency. This is a time for vigorous and positive action.” – Martin Luther King
